Alternatively, you can right-click on the ‘Presets’ folder in your ‘Effects’ panel, select ‘Import Presets’, and then choose the preset file you downloaded.
Once imported, you can add the transitions directly to video or image layers in your Premiere Pro timeline. Simply select Shift+D on Mac or windows to insert native video transitions in-between your video layers. For more complex transitions, open the timeline and position the playhead at the point in-between the two video layers where you want to apply the transition. Then, select one of the many transitions available from the effects panel, and drag it into the timeline. Adjusting parameters such as duration is easy - just double click on the transition clip or go to properties from within the effects tab.
You can also use these transitions by adding them to an adjustment layer, which will apply the transition to all clips underneath. To do this, create an adjustment layer above your footage and drag it over the clips you want to transition between. Then, drag the transition of your choice onto the adjustment layer. Each transition will recommend how many frames your adjustment layer should start before the cut between your two clips. Simply follow the recommendation, or experiment with moving your adjustment layers around on your timeline to create new effects or tweak the transitions to suit your needs.
